CEH believes that sustainable development can only be achieved when communities are at the forefront of decision-making processes. The Community Driven Development program empowers communities to identify their priorities and drive the change they want to see. Program Goals:
Health and Education: CEH has facilitated the construction of community health centers and schools in underserved regions, improving access to essential services.
Livelihood Support: Through income-generating projects such as poultry farming, beadwork, and small-scale businesses, CEH supports households in improving their income and economic resilience.
Infrastructure Development: CEH has implemented community-led road rehabilitation and water infrastructure projects, improving access to markets and essential services.
Political, Economic, and Social Assessment (PESA): CEH conducts Political, Economic, and Social Assessments to better understand the unique dynamics within each community. This assessment helps identify the factors influencing development and resilience, including local governance structures, economic challenges, and social relationships, providing a foundation for effective and context-sensitive interventions.
Gendered Conflict Analysis (GCA): Recognizing that development challenges often intersect with gender dynamics, CEH performs a Gendered Conflict Analysis to assess the specific roles, risks, and impacts on women and men in conflict-affected communities.
Community Engagements (Discussions with Local Authorities and Other Groups): Engaging with local authorities, traditional leaders, and other key community groups is essential to gaining buy-in and aligning development initiatives with local priorities.
Screening and Mobilization of Communities: To maximize impact, CEH undertakes a rigorous screening and mobilization process to identify communities that are most in need and ready for engagement.
Establishment and Capacity Strengthening of Community Management Structures: CEH supports the establishment of community management structures, such as local development committees or project management teams, and strengthens their capacity through training and technical support.
Identification of Community-Based Priority Projects: Through participatory methods, CEH works with communities to identify their most pressing needs and prioritize projects that will have the greatest impact.
